"Araba, good evening. I am Suleiman of Zaria"
"Good evening to you."
"Sir, I am Hausa but my kinfolk are Urhobo. In my
childhood I visited and lived amongst your people
the Yoruba and was granted the Military Designation
of Crown Prince Oranmiyan attached to the Infantry,
the Mechanized Division there in Ibadan. As you
might imagine, I am the griot of the coup de tats
in our country."
"Oranmiyan was a Prince of Ile Ife"
"He is a Nigerian treasure, to be sure. The designation
comes with a rank similar in spirit to 'General.' This
will help you understand my preciseness and the
extent to which I walk alone. It is unusual for
a Nigerian to appear so grumpy or anti social. But
it is for the greater good."
"May Olodumare shine his light on all his children."
"Ami. Araba, although my designation is on account of
the quality of my art, mostly the music of ancient Yorubaland
and its endless awadas (beloved by now, I might add, by
my peers in Hollywood where I study the craft of movie making),
the matter before us is one that can end with the yoruba
conception of 'Kakanfo'. Are you aware of Kakanfo, araba?"
"Kakanfo means war."
"Yes, and so can you tell me, sir, who is the current Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land?"
"The last one was Chief Abiola and before him we had Benjamin Adekunle"
"And since the murder of Chief Abiola?"
"..."
"Sir, accept then, this gift from the Federal Republic of Nigeria."
In the year 1977, during the FESTAC celebrations, came word of
the fulfillment of a prophesy. I am the fulfillment of that prophesy.
Araba, will you accept any version of the Yoruba Moral Premise that
does not have, as its highest LORD, the God and King "Olodumare?"
"I will not"
Then as Pharaoh I shall grant your people independence, but upon one
condition.
"What is this condition?"
"Araba it is a mystery and I shall explain it in this way. In my public
life I am both a musician and a technology specialist. In both careers
I enjoy my living tremendously and am enriched by the craft. But one
cannot serve two masters. Eshu Elegba calls. But Eshu is not a 'god'
or an idol. Eshu is a circumstance, a pattern, that occurs in life.
One is reminded, by adhering to Ifa's admonitions on Elegba, of
when to activate the methodologies for dealing with critical ambiguity
in one's life's journey. If I might be so bold, the answer to all Eshu's
tricks is proven to be the twin-headed axe of the circumstance in life
called Shango, the god of thunder and thus resolution. His Egyptian
maxim is a circle with a dot in it, otherwise translated by your cousins
in Benin as Aton, from the Yoruba "Otan" or "O.to" In essence, Araba,
when your people learn WHY it is important to worship ONLY Olodumare
and learn the lessons of the most high THROUGH the light of Ifa, then
they shall be set free... today, at this very moment however, their idolatory
has attracted the attention of angels and prophets, and clouds of doom
encircle the landscape, my uncle, of Modakeke. If your people do not change
NOW... sir... they will not change.
"...and thus shall Kakanfo Olodumare..." subsume Yoruba land for one thousand years...."
