Seismic Problems with the Obama Presidency

1. The non "War on Terror"
President Obama's response to Anderson Cooper on his shift from the phrase "War on Terror" demonstrates a seismic naivete about the Global Jihad sponsored originally by Al Kaeda in 1997, one which will not end without a reasonable attempt to create or provide a homeland for muslims--assuming it true that America still props up autocracy in the Islamic world--as well as an intellectual misreading of islam itself. Having schooled in Indonesia, it is unfortunate that Mr. Obama does not understand the Koran and yet chooses to isolate himself from well-meaning advice proferred by those of us, being truly muslim, who do. See Surat 9, Hussein. Mr. Obama, you see, is a politician more intrigued by the beast and its image--how we are viewed from without--and so wants to signal to the "moderate muslim world", a fantasy created by Fareed Zakaria and our truly well meaning friend Fouad Ajami, that we gots their back. Mr. Obama would do well to recall the lessons of history, for in history do we find the answer to jihad. It is, Obama, called democracy. Islamic government of the Islamic People for the Islamic People by the Islamic People. You can call it Islamic Democracy, but the implications of its emic structure demonstrates it can be done, so long as we hold ourselves to the same high standards abroad as we do at home.
Mr. Obama, President Bush used the phrase "War on Terror" on instruction from the Department responsible for the common and sovereign defense because of the sequence of events, recursive and not, following the plane attacks of 9-11. Our current president fails, it seems, to appreciate that there is a war--the Global Jihad--and that it was called and waged against us, not the other way round. His pacifist stance, brought about by as eggregious a misreading of the polity as his cabinet picks--lobbyists, tax cheats and all--will secure America's doom, a country led by an administration unwilling, for the sake of fashion, to do what it must to protect the country despite evidence that this "war" is just as real as World War II, and that America, even the CNN food court, has been breached and infiltrated by rebels of the Jihadist army. Oh that this were a Republican rant, and yet I, once a Nigerian prophet, have immediately assumed the posture of the American Isaiah, suggesting that there ought to come, in time, a Negro better suited to the delicate task of healing this country and moving us forward. Instead, Obama's hubris and arrogance have made certain the demise of liberal theology, energized for good or bad the Conservative Right, and put America towards the path of serious racial and cultural conflagration. Over the past two weeks I have watched in horror as Mr. Obama's leadership, made evident by the STUPID decision to insult Sarah Palin and by mass hypnosis pushed by Oprah and Barbara Walters cover it up, bring America to the highest tension levels I've seen in my eighteen years in this country. I am very concerned that Mr. Obama's autocratic campaign style, his penchant for rule by fiat and win by surprise, has caught up with us. And at this moment, when America needed a black man like myself, one who could unite all people, sure in his philosophy and quick in his knowledge, pure in his assumption and true in his word, we have the very definition of a word that will now no longer be a mystery in history.
