The Rapture of Madam Yemoja

By now the villagers were beset with worry. If it was true what the rumors said,
that the young stranger was causing the old people to die of laughter, that eery
shrill laughter that echoed for days, then soon the laughter was sure to reach
the village and kill the people too! But, the village head surmised, if we must
all die then to die of laughter is a joyful destiny. Still, the people were sad,
for though in joy, death is death. It was now time for Madam Yemoja to question
the lad. Upon hearing this a solemn quiet dwelled upon the people of Azanikan.
In less than half an hour it could be heard, in the middle of the silence of
death, the joyful rapture of a soul, blessed to be comforted into eternity by
the humors of the Prince of Darkness...
