America the Beautiful

...but childish. I can no longer run away from history. It is here, in this
country, that a grown man, a State judge, fought tooth and nail to have the
"Ten Commandments" of Moses placed as a monument outside a court house. I used
to think Masons existed in America. I used to think they had a mastery of symbolism.
It is not that Masons do not exist in America. It is simply a matter of protocol,
which they do not yet understand. It is here that a presidential aspirant was
denied "Holy Communion" for his views on abortion. Nothing said about his views
on paedophelia. Yes, America is freer than Cambodia. So freedom, relatively,
is alive. After all, were it not alive, relatively, we'd all be living in
Cambodia, no? There are no grown men in this society, of the sort who could
stand up to tyranny, which exists in full-fancy in this era. The tyranny of
stupid men... I cannot lie any longer, I do not see it being possible, me living
in this country beyond a certain time... I just will not hang around a civilization
so childish, so bent on its own destruction... just as I thought, they don't have
what it takes to "rise above" the fray... as an oral historian would have said.
America... "rise above" mediocrity for crying out loud... this is getting
alarming...
